What inspired you to become a nurse?
My mother and my aunt, who is an RNP (Registered Nurse Practitioner), inspired me to be a nurse. They taught me that the patient who comes into the hospital is somebody’s loved one and deserves to be cared for as if they were a member of your own family.
What is your favourite part of your role?
My favourite part of my role is being able to utilize the skills I learned in nursing school, as well as applying aspects of my own personality to help brighten the lives of my patients on a daily basis.
How would you describe the impact you have on the lives of your patients?
As a nurse working with seniors in mental health, I believe the impact made of the lives of patients cannot be described without first acknowledging the interdisciplinary team that I work with.
Why is being a nurse meaningful to you?
Being a nurse is meaningful to me because it is rewarding to be in a position where I get to contribute to the wellbeing of patients and their families.
