The Centre for Family Medicine FHT expands innovative eHealth Program

The Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team is pleased to introduce the creation of the eHealth Centre of Excellence, a Centre for Family Medicine FHT program for initiatives in eHealth.

The Centre for Family Medicine FHT’s mission is to provide leadership in inter-professional primary healthcare, education, research, and innovation within a sustainable, supportive environment. In alignment with this mission, the Centre for Family Medicine FHT has supported an eHealth program for several years, under the leadership of Dr. Mohamed Alarakhia, the Director of eHealth Solutions at the Centre for Family Medicine FHT.

The Centre for Family Medicine FHT’s eHealth program has been involved with various personal health record, electronic medical record, electronic health record, research, and education programs for several years. These initiatives have included the HEALTHeCONNECTIONS project, the Waterloo Wellington Clinical Tools Adoption Project, Connecting South West Ontario Program, and the Electronic Medical Record Value Project.

In order to deepen and focus our eHealth program, The Centre for Family Medicine FHT has founded the eHealth Centre of Excellence, which will develop and implement strategies, technologies and initiatives for e-health adoption, innovation, education and research. The eHealth Centre of Excellence is under the governance and oversight of The Centre for Family Medicine FHT

The Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team looks forward to continuing its leadership role in regional eHealth initiatives through the eHealth Centre of Excellence program.
