Full house for 9th annual Mayor’s Souper Sampler
In two weeks, Cambridge City Hall will be packed with 500 hungry local residents ready to indulge in some of the finest soups in town, all while supporting the clients of Community Support Connections – Meals on Wheels and More (CSC).
“More than a dozen local restaurants and caterers are donating soup to help local seniors and adults with disabilities live at home with independence and dignity,” said Will Pace, CSC’s Executive Director. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to showcase the generosity of local vendors, businesses and partners willing to support our community.”
Going into its 9th year, the family-friendly Mayor’s Souper Sampler will take place on Saturday, October 27, 2018 from 10:30a.m. until 2:00p.m. at Cambridge City Hall.
Award-winning flamenco guitarist, Juneyt, is providing entertainment and kids can expect an extra treat this year.
“With Halloween around the corner, kids of all ages are encouraged to wear their Halloween costume and do some early trick-or-treating. We anticipate the kids’ corner will be bustling with excitement,” said Pace.
Vendors compete for the Best Soup Trophy, which is judged by a celebrity panel, and the People’s Choice Award, which attendees vote for using their spare change.
Current vendors include Beertown Cambridge, Blackshop Restaurant and Wine Bar, The Bruce Craft House, B@THEMUSEUM, The Easy Pour Wine Bar, EVO Kitchen, The Hungry Olive, Langdon Hall, Little Mushroom Catering, Melville Café, Old Marina Restaurant, and Zoup! Cambridge.
Starbucks is bringing their famous roast for coffee loving attendees, and the CSC Kitchen is back for the fourth year in a row, actively participating since they opened the doors of their own kitchen facility where they now prepare up to 350 hot, nutritious meals each weekday for their food programs.
Silver Sponsors Farm Mutual Re and Gore Mutual help increase profits to support programs like Meals on Wheels, free gentle exercise, and transportation to medical appointments and the grocery store.
Tickets are $5 per person at the door and includes two samples. Additional samples can be purchased for $1 each.
All-You-Can-Eat Soup tickets are $20 per person and include a free reusable water bottle.
