NEW SERVICE: New Treatment for Liver Cancer Patients in Waterloo Wellington

GRH is offering radio frequency ablation (RFA) and trans-arterial chemo embolization (TACE) for liver cancer. The web page for the service is here:

RFA basically uses a radio frequency probe to superheat and destroy a tumour. TACE uses chemo to cut off a tumour’s blood supply and destroy the tumour itself. Both procedures require minimally invasive procedures under imaging guidance.

We know physicians have historically referred patients to centres like London and Hamilton. Our new service will help keep people available locally.
